A lot of people say the slots are tight but my experience at all casinos is “the casino give them and the casino take the away”. I gambled several hours on Saturday and about an hour and half on Sunday and I left even money. The smoking section wasn’t that bad and I am picky since I quit smoking 11 years ago. I thought it would be a little bigger but maybe when the construction is finished. I didn’t really need anything so beyond the normal contact at the front desk and a couple of restaurant employees there wasn’t any contact. I’ve heard bad things about customer service but I didn’t have that experience.

I would stick to one of the other places to eat or even go into Ocean Shores and find a place. One extreme example is a gentleman wearing a white T-shirt, sweatpants and had one of his shoes off under the table. The clientele was definitely not what you would expect to see at a supposed “fine dining” restaurant. I had pan seared scallops which were pretty good and my husband had halibut which he said was tough and dry. We had the steamer clams as an appetizer and they were just okay. The prices are high and the food just isn’t that good. However, other than MAYBE Shilo Inn I’m pretty sure none of the hotels/motels at Ocean Shores have them either.

There is no valet parking and no room service. Parking isn’t great right now with construction. There is a short path for beach access along with an indoor pool and hot tub. It’s not a huge issue but maybe they will be working on it before the construction is over the end of June. The only problem I had with our room was that anyone walking above us was very loud and I’m sure the people below us felt the same way. They recommended we make reservations if we wanted to eat at Emily’s restaurant so we called when we got to the room and made them for 7p. We were a little early arriving, about 2’ish but they had a room ready so we got checked in early. The view was great and there was a window that could be opened a bit to listen to the waves. The weather Saturday wasn’t great but Sunday was beautiful and made me very glad I paid the extra $20 for an ocean view room. (As a side note, I believe a 2 night minimum on weekends starts Memorial Day weekend at all Ocean Shores hotels). My husband and I stayed over a Saturday night on Mother’s day weekend.
